Virtual 3-Day Event
ATD Intensive: AI
AI continues to evolve rapidly. Tools change, expectations rise, and L&D professionals face growing pressure to show not just that they are using AI, but also how it creates real value in a volatile and uncertain economy. That is why this fall’s ATD Intensive is focused entirely on AI.
October 8,15, and 22, 2026
AI in Practice: From Workflows to Workplace Transformation
Across three days, the AI Intensive helps L&D and talent development professionals revisit AI as an ongoing capability rather than a one-time skill. The experience emphasizes practical use, responsible decision making, and human oversight as AI becomes more embedded in everyday work.
Each day centers on a distinct theme:
- Day 1: AI in the L&D Workflow
How L&D and TD professionals are using AI in their own work, including planning, design, development, and analysis, as well as emerging ways work itself is changing - Day 2: AI Augmented Learning Experiences
How AI can support and enhance learning and performance experiences, including facilitation, coaching, knowledge access, and the systems and practices needed to ensure accuracy, trust, and relevance - Day 3: AI and Workplace Transformation
L&D’s role in helping organizations navigate AI-driven change, including governance, ethics, adoption, workforce readiness, and business impact
A Hackathon runs across all three days to support hands-on practice and experimentation. Participants will apply ideas in context, explore real use cases, and build confidence in deciding when AI adds value, when it does not, and why human judgment remains essential.
Topics like ethics, governance, change management, adoption, and impact are woven throughout the program rather than treated as one-off conversations. The result is a grounded, practitioner-focused experience that reflects the real pressures and possibilities facing learning leaders today.
This is not about keeping up with every new AI tool. It is about learning how to work with AI thoughtfully and responsibly over time.
